Three Months Old!

YEA! We made it to three months!! My little man is growing up so fast, and he changes every day. What you've been up to lately...
  • You are now taking six ounces at every feeding, but still eating every three hours...(except at night)
  • You have found your fingers...you hold them up, stare at them, and slowly bring them to your mouth, and you are so proud of yourself when you get them.
  • You have slept through the night for two nights straight....and your mommy and daddy feel like new people.
  • You love your teachers at school...you smile at them every morning.
  • You have started to coo at your dad and I. It brightens our day.
  • You LAUGH!! It is by far the most adorable, sweetest, most precious laugh ever.
  • Your favorite person other than your parents, is your grandma...no matter what mood you are in as soon as you get kisses from grandma, you laugh and smile for a while.
  • You have started to cry when you can't see mommy and daddy at home...if you are in your swing, or bouncy seat you really want someone to be sitting in the living room with you..if you can't see anyone..you cry. (this makes going to bed in your own room hard)
  • And on that note, you still sleep in the room with us. I love being that close to you where I can get to you quick if you need me...hopefully sometime soon we may start putting you in your own room...but for now, being with us makes me happy!!!! (haha)
  • You mean more to your daddy and I than you will ever know. Our world is so much better with you in it!

...and on a funny note, the other night Little man was fighting sleep and just really restless....finally he got still and ended up like this. Typical Man...

Until next time...

Happy (late) Father's Day!

Happy 1st Father's Day to Joe! He is an amazing daddy and loves little man more and more each day! Sometimes my favorite part of the day is when Joe comes home, and little man lights up...oh how he loves his daddy! This picture was taken about 11:00 one night and little man wasn't asleep yet, so while I finished folding laundry I laid little man beside his daddy and he just got so comfortable..i love it! Also, I cannot write this post without mentioning my wonderful daddy. He is an amazing guy and would do anything for me and Joe. He is a great example of a dad, and an excellent Grandpa...
I am so blessed...I have an amazing daddy, a wonderful husband, and the most precious little man ever!
Until next time...

It Stinks...

This stinks...

1) Even though Joseph's test results came back as expected and I was somewhat prepared for it...it still stinks. After just one night in the hospital and just one IV I know that I never want to do that again. But...we went to the doctor today, and still from the looks of it, there is no function. What will happen now is they will do an ultrasound in a couple of months, and if it's gotten bigger, and chances are it will, they will have to remove it. The doctor we go to doesn't like to do a kidney removal until they are 6-8 months, so we are back to the waiting game. This means more time in the hospital and it stinks....

2) I go back to work on Monday..and it stinks. Joseph is going to a great day care and I know they will take great care of him-it still may be one of the hardest things I have to do. The last twelve weeks I have spent with him have been some of the best. He is starting to giggle, and smiles alot...what I would give to bottle his sweet giggle up. I will miss him terribly, even though I know it is for the best for us right now...but it stinks.

On a lighter note- Joseph adores bath time, and it is great to do when he is a little crabby...isn't he adorable...and this doesn't stink.

Until next time...

1st hospital visit and results!

Well if you are reading this you probably know that we took little man to the hospital on wed. morning for some tests done to his right kidney. Since he was sedated we had to stay overnight. To start the day off he had to get an iv, which was probably the worst part of the day! It took them forever to find a vein, he cried and cried, and cried until they eventually found one in his foot. They then took him in and ran radioactive liquid through his veins to watch how long the right kidney was holding fluid and if it was releasing it. They also watched the left one, just to make sure everything was ok. The rest of the day was pretty much expected...we sat, rocked, and fed the little man. He was extrememly frustrated because they left the iv in and put a "arm pillow" to keep it sturdy. He never cried but he slapped his foot down over and over again trying to get it off.

The night went ok..he slept from 10:30 til 5 this morning, and would have slept longer but they checked vitals..over and over and over! Now for the results....

I will start off by saying we are so blessed that it is little man's kidney and that it is only one of them. I know last night staying in the children's hospital that there is so many more sick kids and babies there and little man was probably one of the healthiest ones...so we have to count our blessings for that. When we spoke with the doctor we found out the right kidney has no fuction at all. We were hoping for a little function so the next step would be a little easier. What will happen next is another ultrasound. They will compare it with the first ultrasound. If the kidney has gotten any bigger it will have to be removed. If it stays the same it will be watched for some time. If it has gotten any smaller chances are we won't have to do anything, because it will get smaller and smaller until it eventually goes away.

Even though this was not the results we would have hoped for we are lucky that little man has one fuctioning kidney. God must have knew what he was doing when he gave us a spare!!!!
Enjoy the pics from our day!

How we started our day...4 oz of Pedialyte, and he loved it!

The crazy IV that had to be left it..and he hated it!

Sitting with Grandma...he was still a little drugged up at this point.
Feeding little man!

Loves to be burped by daddy!

All his little wires to monitor heart rate!

Hospital braclet and monitor.

Yes, I fit in the crib and it was somewhat comfortable. Funniest thing was when he woke up he could not figure out why I was in his bed!

While laying with Little Man this was my view. First is little man, then Joe and the sunset in the background. A good ending to a long day!

Until next time....
